It's been a while but I wanted to return with a BANG!
This is a spoiler free review and more my night of Hunger Games celebration. And it's now 3.15am and I have to be up for work soon-ish so excuse me while I go sleep a few!
Ack! I was one of those people who tut-tutted at the casting of Jennifer Lawrence. I WAS WRONG! I'M SORRY! I WANT TO HAVE HER BABIES, ok?! lol
I wasn't as enamored of Hutchy's Peeta as everyone else seems to be. I think reading the mocking 'Go Fug Yourself' red carpet comments may have leaked into my perception of him a wee bit... I don't know. I think he'll have more opportunity in 'Catching Fire' to wow me.
Saying it’s basically Twilight: I’d shoot down anyone that does. Got in the car on the way to Crown and Fifi Box on the radio was like “I don’t know much about it but I believe it’s like the next Twilight...” I just wanted to smash her face in. I’m not violent but that’s ironic now after professing my undying love for the film and fighting that urge to tell people to shut the eff up about the differences to the book as we came out of the midnight screening at MC.
It was an amazing adaptation and I want to see so many more times and I don’t think I’d ever get bored.
