The banging sound is not a kidnap victim trying to escape, it's my broken window slamming in the breeze. How fun is that at 3am in the morning? God bless being a renter who has been ignored by her landlord for a few months on this issue!
I had the same reaction to John Green's book - LOVED it, but at the end I did think "Well, I'm never going to be as good a writer as him." He is 'da bomb.'
I can actually imagine a lot of aspiring authors, toiling away at a story with a character dying of cancer ... and then reading 'The Fault in Our Stars' and just giving up. Deleting everything they wrote and deciding to go a steampunk angle instead. Nobody can touch John Green. He is the pinnacle. Damn him!
